School to Home Support

Have you ever gotten information from your child’s teacher or school and had trouble understanding the meaning or how to support your child at home? Test scores, behavioral reports, suggestions for additional testing? All of these can be so overwhelming, frustrating and sometimes scary.

I have found that parents know their child best, and most of the time, just need coaching or support to understand the educational vocabulary used by the school or teacher to help support their child in the best way possible. I support parents in a myriad of ways as a classroom ally. I have supported families in the creation of behavior plans that can be used in school and at home, reviewing, analyzing and helping to explain test scores, Parent Teacher Conference feedback, helping parents to find the words to draft emails to advocate for students with the teacher or school and many other school related issues.

Behavior issues can be identified either through medical diagnosis or observed and documented by an educational professional. I am available to observe students and support in behavior plan creation. For behavior plans to be effective, there must be extreme consistency and communication between home and school.

Having an ally be a consistent support in navigating school feedback or helping to build a communication pipeline with the school and teacher is a great way to ensure your child isn’t falling through the cracks and missing the opportunity to reach their full potential.

With an ally you will be able to:

  • More effectively advocate for your child in all school related issues

  • Hold schools accountable for diligent behavior and academic support

  • Effectively communicate with the teacher and school to support your child

  • Understand how to implement strategies at home to support school and home success
